Dear Colleagues,

Please mark your calendars for the weekend of January 25-27, 2019. Our CDHEA annual meeting will be held this year at the Irvine Marriott Hotel.

Our weekend conference begins on Friday, January 25th with our Director’s Meeting at 3:30 p.m. We are very excited about the program for Saturday and Sunday which includes eight continuing education units. Saturday will begin with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. followed by a presentation by Ann Battrell, Executive Director of ADHA, on the Future of Dental Hygiene Education. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Angela Hoppe-Nagao, Professor of Communications, Department Chair at Cerritos College. Her interactive presentation: Cultural Intelligence for Dental Hygiene Education and Strategies to Create Cultural Intelligence in the Classroom will be very enlightening and meet the educational methodology requirement for DHCC and will help us with CODA Standards. Dr. Hoppe-Nagao’s bio and speaker topic will be on our website under ‘meeting.’

We will begin our Sunday meeting with breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by our business meeting at 8:30 a.m. and then Dr. Angela Hoppe-Nagao will complete her presentation workshop from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. At the end of her presentation each participant will receive a certificate of participation. The meeting will end at 12:30 after the raffles.

The CDHEA board encourages you to register online and to be sure to take advantage of the special rate at the Irvine Marriott Hotel. Once you complete the Survey at the end of Sunday’s presentation, you will be able to print your certificate. Please make your travels plans accordingly as to not leave early. The CE portion concludes at 11:30 Sunday.

This is going to be a very exciting and stimulating meeting. The CDHEA Board and I look forward to seeing all of you!
